Introducing Geradina Inc. which offers a fresh new approach in providing professional, educated, and proven methods to the Landscape maintenance industry. Established in 2023 by owner and operator Rick Bron, created from his long and remarkable career of 25+ years in the horticultural field.
Rick was born and raised on a Tree Farm with Garden Center just east of Calgary. His parents Hans and Marianne Bron were two well known and respected horticulturalists. They raised Rick to have a high level of integrity, core values and business acumen. His father Hans Bron was key in the creation of the Landscape Gardener program at Olds College and became one of the first Red Seal certified Landscape Gardeners in Canada. Ricks parents also worked closely with Landscape Alberta; both having been elected to the board during their careers. He learned so much from them and applies it daily to honor their legacy. Geradina's name is a heartfelt tribute to Rick's late mother, as it originates from one of her middle names.
After an unfortunate divide in the family and the sale of the Alberta family operation, this gave Rick the opportunity along with his mother Marianne to start a small wholesale nursery near Calgary when he was just 18 years old. While this was a successful endeavor and enjoyable career, they would unfortunately run into water issues due to an established dugout running dry due to a drought.
Shortly thereafter Rick went on to become a manager and grower for Foothills Nurseries, one of the largest and most innovative tree farms in Alberta This is where he honed his skills and was lucky enough to be trained by industry legend Arnold Heuver. Rick expanded container operations, started a greenhouse for perennial production and vastly increased productivity during this time. However, due to a company restructuring, Arnold’s departure, and the idea to start his own business, Rick decided it was time to take a different path.
Rick then founded and operated the first successful online garden center in Calgary which still operates to this day. In 2019 Rick sold the business to reflect on how his passion for horticulture and landscaping could be applied in more personal ways.
Rick then accepted a position with a high-end residential landscape maintenance company, where his professionalism and plant knowledge shine through. Meeting one-on-one with amazing clients, and helping them achieve their goals to have rejuvenated yards, in an outdoor oasis they can enjoy. Rick's passion for horticulture has been renewed, bringing an experienced and professional advantage to the under-serviced, and expanding city of Calgary. He knows the challenges homeowners face and applies the individualized solutions they need.
